Jessica Taylor is first and foremost an obsessed reader who melts over eloquent sentences. Because of this love, she also writes literary fiction and erotic fiction. She is the winner of two consecutive Katey Lehman Creative Writing Awards, two consecutive Laura Richardson Whitaker Memorial Awards, and a Texas Health Resources Literature and Medicine Award. Her childhood and teenage writing is also currently in production for the stage show Mortified.
In addition to creative writing, her technical writing has appeared in The Anthropology of East Europe Review, Journal of Thoracic Disease, Marin Medicine, and been published by Esophageal Cancer Education Foundation.
Jessica holds an undergraduate degree from Pennsylvania State University, as well as graduate degrees from the University of Chicago and the University of California.
Jessica’s writing is heavily influenced by Karen Russell, Janine Ashbless, Margaret Atwood, Steve Weddle, Rachel Kramer Bussel, Cristina Garcia, Madeline L’Engle, Tea Obreht, and Sylvain Reynard. She lives in Austin, Texas, and is happily married without the need for children.
